These may be called “birthday sugar cookies” but I approve them to be eaten on any day all year long! Enjoy them for any celebration, special milestones, or also just because you want a tasty dessert. I love making these for fun and adding a small amount of white chocolate to add décor and to add a little extra sweetness. The cookie itself without the chocolate isn’t overly sweet, so this makes for the ultimate pairing! Hope you enjoy!
Items Used For This Recipe:
Ingredients
-
1 Cup of Melted Butter
-
2 Cups of White Sugar
-
2 Eggs
-
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
-
4 Cups of Flour
-
1/2 tsp Salt
-
1 tsp Baking Soda
-
1 tsp Baking Powder
-
3/4 Cup Buttermilk
-
1/2 Cup Sprinkles
-
White Chocolate for Decorating
Directions
In your Large Mixing Bowl add melted butter and sugar. Beat butter and sugar together until well combined.
Add eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.
In another mixing bowl, sift flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder together, and add little by little to butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
Add in sprinkles and mix together until your sprinkles are well combined throughout your cookie dough.
Now that your dough is made, wrap it up in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hours. I like to let mine sit in the refrigerator overnight for 24 hours. This allows the cutouts to come out perfectly around the edges.
After dough has chilled preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Be sure to flour your surface area, rolling pin and dough to make sure your cookie dough doesn’t stick to anything. I am using 360 cookie cutters! So many amazing options and shapes!!
Bake for 8-10 min on 360’s Large Stainless Steel Cookie Sheet.
After baking place onto cooling rack and decorate once cooled. ENJOY!!
